Do you offer free consultation?
Yes, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. In this consultation I will carefully listen to the mental health issues you’re currently experiencing and ask a few questions to learn more about you. I will be able to answer any questions you might have about my practice.
What are the conditions you treat?
I offer medication management and/or psychotherapy for a variety of mental health conditions including Depression and Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic Attacks, Adult ADHD and Attention Problems, Trauma and PTSD, Insomnia and Sleep Issues, Personality Disorders, and more. Many people experience emotional problems and difficulties even though they may not have a formal psychiatric disorder. Even if you don’t have a specific disorder, I can offer help and insight on many life problems, including stress management, relationship problems, life transitions, work and school problems, loss and grief.
How long are typical sessions?
Initial psychiatric evaluation is approximately one hour, and subsequent sessions are 30 or 45 minutes depending on your clinical needs. Psychotherapy sessions are 45 minutes per session.
Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
I currently offer both in-person and virtual sessions (telehealth). My office is in Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York. I also offer virtual sessions to residents of New York and New Jersey.
Do you take my insurance?
I am out of network for all insurances. However, the majority of my patients use their insurance out of network benefits. Patients typically get reimbursed 50-80% of the session fee using their benefits. I work with Reimbursify so that you can use your out of network insurance benefits with ease. Reimbursify will submit insurance claims on your behalf and you will be able to keep track of your reimbursements. I will provide you with all necessary documentation.
You can check for your out-of-network benefits using the link below:
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept credit card, debit card, FSA/HSA cards, and Zelle.
What can I expect in the first meeting?
Before our first meeting, I will send you an intake questionnaire form you can complete in advance. The form will give you a rough idea of what topics may come up during the initial assessment.
In the first meeting, I will ask you questions about the mental health problem you’re currently struggling with. This might include general questions about your past mental health history, treatment history, and medical history.
Based on my clinical evaluation, I will usually recommend the best course of treatment at the end of the first meeting. You may already know what treatment you want, or you may be coming in with an open mind. I will collaborate with you to come up with a treatment plan (medication and/or therapy) that would be most helpful for you.
Do I need to be on a psychiatric medication?
No, you can still get help even if you don’t want to be on a medication. If you’re uncertain whether taking psychiatric medications is right for you, I integrate psychotherapy, coaching, lifestyle changes, and mind-body connections including nutritional supplementation and acupuncture to create a unique treatment plan for you.
What types of psychotherapy do you provide?
I have training and expertise in providing supportive/talk therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I will first listen to your past treatment history and preference, and collaborate with you to determine the most helpful modality of therapy.
